BC: 2014 Legislative Calendar

Author: Jordan Bateman 2014/01/06

It’s the first working Monday of 2014, so I’m busy plotting out the B.C. office’s schedule for the next few months.

Thought it might be useful for others to note that the Throne Speech in Victoria is set for Tuesday, Feb. 11 (hopefully the MLAs won’t be hung over from Family Day the day before).

The 2014-15 B.C. Budget comes down Tuesday, Feb. 18. The legislative session is set to run Feb. 11 to March 13, then March 24 through April 10, take two weeks off, April 28 through May 15, take another week off, and finally wrap up May 26-29. That said, the session could (and, if past history is any indicator, likely will) end earlier, depending on the whims of the B.C. Liberals.

If you’re in Victoria, and you want to see how the democratic sausage is made, daily sittings run 10-noon and 1:30-6:30 on Mondays and Tuesdays; 1:30-7 on Wednesdays, and 10-noon and 1:30 to 6 on Thursdays.

Thus concludes this odd turn as Legislature tour guide, er, blogger.
